LA Food | Michelin-Listed Thai Restaurant π Chiang Rai π
Today I visited Chiang Rai in Long Beach β a Thai restaurant thatβs been featured in the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years! π Iβd heard wait times could be long, but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday lunch! β³π We ordered three dishes: π Khao Soi Soft Shell Crab Soup Rating: πππππ Rich curry coconut broth with soft-shell crab β every strand of noodle soaked up the delicious soup! π Absolutely a must-try! π Chiang Rai Platter Rating: ππππ A signature appetizer sampler with four different Thai snacks. Perfect for sharing among four people β portion might be too big otherwise! π Somtum Kai Todd Rating: πππ Grilled whole chicken wings with papaya salad and sticky rice. Not sure about the role of the sticky rice here β it wasnβt specially seasoned and didnβt seem to pair well with the wings or salad. However, the sticky rice went nicely with the curry noodle soup! The chicken wings were a bit dry though β not my favorite. β Summary: The restaurant is cozy but the portions and flavors are satisfying. Most highly recommend the Khao Soi noodle series (you can choose from chicken, beef, shrimp, crab, or pork options!). β οΈ Heads up: No dedicated parking lot! Youβll need street parking, which can be a bit tricky to find. π π Address: 3832 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804 Have you been to Chiang Rai or another Michelin-recognized Thai spot?
