LA Food | Michelin-Listed Thai Restaurant πŸ› Chiang Rai πŸ›

Today I visited Chiang Rai in Long Beach – a Thai restaurant that’s been featured in the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years! πŸ† I’d heard wait times could be long, but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday lunch! β³πŸ™Œ We ordered three dishes: πŸ› Khao Soi Soft Shell Crab Soup Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Rich curry coconut broth with soft-shell crab – every strand of noodle soaked up the delicious soup! πŸ˜‹ Absolutely a must-try! πŸ› Chiang Rai Platter Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A signature appetizer sampler with four different Thai snacks. Perfect for sharing among four people – portion might be too big otherwise! πŸ› Somtum Kai Todd Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 Grilled whole chicken wings with papaya salad and sticky rice. Not sure about the role of the sticky rice here – it wasn’t specially seasoned and didn’t seem to pair well with the wings or salad. However, the sticky rice went nicely with the curry noodle soup! The chicken wings were a bit dry though – not my favorite. βœ… Summary: The restaurant is cozy but the portions and flavors are satisfying. Most highly recommend the Khao Soi noodle series (you can choose from chicken, beef, shrimp, crab, or pork options!). ⚠️ Heads up: No dedicated parking lot! You’ll need street parking, which can be a bit tricky to find. πŸš— πŸ“ Address: 3832 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804 Have you been to Chiang Rai or another Michelin-recognized Thai spot?
