LA Must-Visit! The Signature Thai Restaurant Even Blackpink Visited!
This Thai restaurant in LA, which once earned a Michelin star, has been visited by numerous celebrities—even Blackpink stopped by! 🌸💫 The restaurant has a cozy, vintage vibe with walls covered in awards and press features. The menu is incredibly extensive—Jitlada’s menu is like a textbook, with over 300 dishes, making it one of the most diverse Thai restaurants in Los Angeles! 📖✨ A must-try, recommended by friends, is the Southern Thai Curry Crab 🦀—spicy, fragrant, and absolutely finger-licking good! The fresh crab meat paired with aromatic coconut curry sauce is simply irresistible. We also ordered the Crab Fried Rice 🍚—each grain was perfectly cooked, dry yet chewy, with that classic wok hei aroma. It reminded me of Cantonese-style egg white fried rice but with a Thai twist! Their signature Fried Water Spinach Salad was tangy and addictive—the dressing alone is worth coming back for! We also tried the Tiger Prawn 🦐 and Mango 🥭 Salad. Expecting a traditional mango salad, we were surprised to find the mango fried—crispy, sweet, and sour, and seriously delicious! But if you’re looking to avoid repetition, you could choose between this and the fried water spinach salad. The Mango Sticky Rice was decent—the rice had a firm, chewy texture typical of Thai sticky rice. However, it felt quite traditional without any surprises, and the mango (imported from Mexico) wasn’t as sweet as hoped. Overall, we ordered a lot, and everything was so tasty that we finished it all! 🍽️💥 The flavors were bold and satisfying, though slightly adapted to American preferences (e.g., more frying and sweeter notes). Definitely a place worth revisiting! We went before 6 PM on a weekend and didn’t have to wait, but the seating is a bit tight and cozy. 📍Jitlada Restaurant 5233 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 Have you been to Jitlada or another Thai restaurant that blew your mind?
