LA Sichuan Food – Can All Restaurants Please Match This Standard? 🥹
Huge portions, affordable prices, and incredibly delicious!! With every dish that arrived, we kept saying: "This is way too much food!" Even the $8 Bing Fen (iced jelly dessert) could easily serve four. We couldn't finish it — literally impossible 🤯 But it was so good… we ended up in a serious carb coma by the end. Must-Order Dishes: 🍗 Mouthwatering Chicken (Kou Shui Ji) So fragrant and tasty! From the moment it hit the table until it was gone, we couldn't stop praising it. We even wanted to pack the sauce to cook noodles later… but forgot (big regret!!). 🥩 Cold Beef (Leng Chi Niu Rou) Like beef jerky but softer, with a numbing-spicy flavor. Great for spice lovers — we devoured it. Perfect to take home as a snack too! 🦆 Mao Xue Wang with Roast Duck Haven’t had this much in LA. Searched online before going — Sichuan locals said it's authentic here. And yes, it was amazing! The rice noodles inside were surprisingly delicious — a must-try! 🍜 Zhajiang Noodles Recommended by the server — so aromatic! If you’re not having it as a main, one bowl is enough for 2–3 people. Otherwise… carb overload (but you won’t be able to stop eating it). Also Delicious (Non-Signature but Great): 🥬 Hand-Torn Cabbage First time I tasted cabbage this naturally sweet — light, fresh, and delicious. This and the chicken were the only plates we finished completely. Perfect to balance a spicy meal. 🌶️ Stir-Fried Liver & Kidney Personally, I prefer liver with a grainier texture, so this was a bit too tender for me — but still tasty! 🧊 Bing Fen (Iced Jelly Dessert) Generous toppings, huge portion — easily shared. Served with ice cubes inside. My friend told me authentic bing fen always has ice; without ice, it’s called liangfen (is that true? 😦). Chatted with the staff — they’ve only been open a year. Their focus is on big portions and honest food, but they haven’t done much promotion. Most customers are regulars or come through word of mouth. Hope they get the recognition they deserve — LA needs more good, affordable spots like this! 👀 Spicy And Tasty – Chengdu Taste 715 W Las Tunas Dr, San Gabriel, CA 91775 #LosAngeles #LADiscovery #SanGabrielEats #LASichuanFood
