Lao Sze Chuan in Cleveland 🥢

Drove up from West Virginia to Ohio to try this highly recommended Chinese spot: Lao Sze Chuan. The restaurant positions itself as mid-to-upscale, and I was surprised to see it filled mostly with non-Chinese guests as soon as we walked in… 😯 The ambiance is nice though! Our server—super enthusiastic—proudly explained to us (two Chinese people lol) how “authentic” their Chinese food is 😂 We ordered the highly praised Peking Duck (half) 🦆—expectations were high! But when it arrived, the duck was lukewarm... It came with both sweet bean sauce and plum sauce, but the flavor was just okay. We also got the Wontons in Chili Oil 🌶️, and sadly they were overcooked—wrappers torn and thick. Pretty disappointing for a restaurant at this level. Just teasing a bit—hope our server doesn’t understand Chinese 😜 If you haven’t had Peking duck in a while, you might still enjoy it. But temper your expectations—it’s not quite what you’d get in China. 🤷‍♂️ #FoodOnTheRoad #ClevelandEats #ChineseFood
