Las Vegas|Dominique Ansel – The OG Creator of the Cronut! 🥐✨

This trendy French pastry shop from New York has a branch right here in Vegas! Since I was staying at Caesars Palace this time, I visited for four days straight—trying something new each day! 🏛️🍰 🥐 Cronut: Dominique Ansel is the original creator of the Cronut (croissant + donut), and it’s truly the star of the shop! Each month features a new flavor—March was lime custard. The outer layer has the chewiness of a donut and the flakiness of a croissant, while the lime filling balances sweetness with a tangy kick. So well-balanced—it’s the only pastry I kept coming back for! 🍋💫 🥐 DKA (“Dominique’s Kouign Amann”): This Kouign Amann even has its own name—and it’s a bestseller! Crispy on the outside, soft and beautifully layered inside, with a caramelized sugar crust. Pure, simple joy of sugar, butter, and carbs! 🧈🔥 🥐 Almond Croissant: The heaviest, densest almond croissant I’ve ever had—almost like a giant cookie! Even after a day, the crust stayed crispy. Topped with almonds and filled generously without being too sweet—it’s delicious. But at $9.99 (double the price of most bakeries), worth it? You decide! 💸🤔 🥐 Cannelé De Bordeaux: Crisp shell, soft and chewy inside—pretty good! 👍 🥐 Desserts: Tried the Chocolate Raspberry Soufflé and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot (filled with vanilla milk)—not recommended unless you love overly sweet treats. More about gimmicks and looks than flavor (the cookie shot is made by a robotic arm!). Heard their cakes have similar issues. 🍫🚫 Overall, their viennoiserie (pastries) far outshine their fancy desserts. Heard the New York location always has long lines, but the Vegas spot is chill—so much better! 🎰😌 What’s your favorite pastry from Dominique Ansel?
