LAS VEGAS | Michelin 2‑Star Christmas Dinner at WAKUDA 🧞
We started booking Christmas dining about a month and a half in advance, and our top choices were already completely full — talk about popularity! This one ended up being, I guess, the easiest Michelin spot to book in Vegas? 😅 We ordered quite a few dishes — I won’t detail every one since my boyfriend’s parents only really eat "white‑people food," so the choices were… let’s just say "interesting." Not bad — just the kind of thing you could get anywhere, not necessarily worth a special trip here. Also, the menu had changed a lot compared to what I saw online. Many dishes I was excited about from social media — like truffle pasta and caviar courses — were already removed from the menu. A bit disappointing💕😊 Here are the ones I’d recommend: ▪️ Nigiri / Sashimi — As expected at a Michelin spot, top‑quality fish. I tried uni, scallop, and tuna (my favorites). A bit surprised a restaurant of this level didn’t have yellowtail though…👍❤️ ▫️ Shishito Peppers — Different from usual — clearly seasoned with sake, giving them a slightly sweet, flavorful bite. ▪️ Wagyu Gyoza / Sushi Rolls — Wagyu never disappoints. Loved that the sushi chef wrapped the rice inside nori with lightly seared Wagyu and a special sauce — totally my kind of bite! ▫️ Trio Oysters — Three differently marinated oysters. My favorite was the ponzu‑spicy one, but the garlic‑flavored one was great too. ⚠️ Do NOT order any stir‑fried udon — we tried a lobster noodle dish ($45) that was utterly flavorless. Seriously questioned life choices after two bites. Makes you wonder — are Michelin ratings partly based on location and how pretentious everything feels? Maybe I didn’t order the right things. I’d come back — with close friends or family next time. (My boyfriend’s parents paid this time, so I held back on ordering some of the priciest items, even though they said to go all out 😅) #Michelin2Star #Michelin #Vegas #HiddenGem #FoodieLife #LasVegas #VegasTravel
