Las Vegas | Visiting Warren Buffett’s Favorite Steakhouse 🥩✨
Drawn by Buffett’s endorsement, we made a special trip to Smith & Wollensky in Las Vegas to experience this classic steakhouse. As a longtime American steak institution, the atmosphere is grand, service is polished, and the dining experience feels truly special. Signature Must-Order: Tomahawk Steak! 🔥 We tried the Swinging Tomahawk Ribeye (44oz)—huge portion, ideal for sharing among friends (could even feed four with a little extra!). We ordered it medium well: charred on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with rich marbling that melts in your mouth. 🤤 Plus, they offer tableside carving—our server wheeled over a cart, torched beef fat, and poured the sizzling drippings over the steak and baked potato. The aroma alone was worth it! And big thanks to my awesome friends who let me have the bone—the most flavorful part! 🍖💥 Wine Pairing: Quilt 🍷 Not a wine expert, but this one was smooth with natural fruity notes—not too tannic or harsh. Great with steak and good value for money. Recommended! [👍] Surprise Side Dishes ▫️ Wollensky Salad 🌿 – As a veggie lover, I always order greens. The “Chinese-style bacon” (actually fancy bacon 🥓) was incredibly fragrant. Great for appetizing and cutting through the richness later—though maybe skip if you dislike fatty meat. ▫️ Beef Tartare 🥩 – Definitely worth trying! Roasted bone marrow added a smoky depth, and the seasoned raw beef was fresh and flavorful. Mixed together, it was creamy, tender, and aromatic, served on crispy toast—I could’ve eaten it all day! 😋 [😅] Small Letdown: Angry Shrimps 🍤 Friends said it was good before, but this time it was too salty, the shrimp were overcooked and chewy, and the mashed potatoes underneath were just okay. Not recommended. [🍰] Couldn’t Resist: The Giant Chocolate Cake! A signature dessert here, but honestly, it’s just a classic American-style chocolate cake 😅. The portion is massive—enough for 5–6 people! Sweetness was moderate, and while it looks impressive, the taste was just average. Still, if you want the full experience and have room, give it a try. I’ve seen mixed reviews online—some love it, others were disappointed—so maybe consistency is an issue here. 🤔 But overall, I left very satisfied! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the tableside service added to the memorable atmosphere. I’d definitely come back. 📍 Location: Smith & Wollensky at The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes (2nd floor overlooks the canal—lovely view!). Reservations recommended on weekends/holidays. 🏷️ #LasVegas #SmithAndWollensky #Steakhouse #WarrenBuffett #TomahawkSteak #FineDining
