Las Vegas • 888 JAPANESE BBQ 🍖🔥

We almost skipped it since we'd already had BBQ, but friends insisted 888 was worth it — so we listened and went! We arrived around 11:30 AM, and there was already a long line outside. A staff member added us to the waitlist on a tablet and said we’d likely get in with the first wave — only about 10–15 minutes wait (the restaurant has just 31 tables). I also checked the Google Maps waitlist, but it hadn’t opened yet by the time we were seated.✨ We were among the last tables in the first wave — waited ~20 minutes, which felt reasonable. They offer three price tiers, and I went for the most expensive — why not, right? I’d heard online that A5 Wagyu was all-you-can-eat, but it wasn’t on the menu — maybe it changed.✨ Our strategy: order all the limited-quantity items first (one per person), plus other dishes. The limited items were delicious — especially the salmon and beef tartare appetizers. I was worried I wouldn’t like them, but they were great!✨ We ordered lots of meat — some say portions are huge, but ours felt just right. My husband thought the slices were thin, so it seemed like we ate a lot. The meat quality was very good, though it can get heavy. We balanced it with seaweed salad and followed online tips to get grilled pineapple — tasty, though probably canned (not as good as fresh).🔥 The fried chicken appetizer was a bit odd — not hot or crispy, almost lukewarm. Not sure if that’s how it’s served or if it was sitting out. After I was full, my husband still wanted sushi and ramen — they were decent but nothing special. Luckily, portions were small, and he finished them easily. 🍨 Check in on Yelp for free ice cream (or pay if you don’t). We tried Thai tea and matcha — Thai tea was better!🔥 The service felt a bit rushed — maybe because each server handled many tables. They didn’t change the grill proactively — we asked twice, and the second time, the server sounded slightly annoyed (“you want to change again?”). Maybe I’m sensitive, but it felt like we were bothering them. Nearby tables never changed theirs at all… Overall, a good choice for quality Japanese BBQ, but not worth waiting 1–2 hours. 📍 3550 S Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89103 #USAEats #LasVegasBBQ #888JapaneseBBQ #AYCE #FoodReview 🥢🍍✨
