Las Vegas 888 Japanese BBQ β So Sweet ππ―
First time trying this spot β went for the top Kobe-tier. The limited beef cuts were decent for the price β some marbling and flavor, though not quite real Kobe level (but for the price, fine). Sashimi and sushi were okay β limited items were solid. Most meats are marinated β and very sweet π―. Got cloying after a while. The yaki shabu beef was shockingly sweet β tasted like undiluted sukiyaki sauce soaked for too long. Beef short ribs were the second-sweetest. Even the dipping sauces were sweet β sweet on sweet π Only one sauce was sour, but too sweet to notice. Beef tongue, on the other hand, was strangely super salty. Left feeling thirsty the whole time. Also, the prime harami miso (four pieces with green onion, right) had a weird gamey, off taste β really strange. Itβs supposed to be a Prime-tier limited cut, but what we got was unpleasant. Service was good, food came fast β though 90 minutes isnβt enough for many rounds. Variety is broad, but flavor-wise, I prefer Gyubee in Toronto. Overall, meat quality for the price is acceptable, but the marinades are overwhelmingly sweet π« Some meats got rave reviews from others β maybe Iβm just not into sweet BBQ. If you donβt like sweet-glazed meats, maybe skip this one. #LasVegas #LasVegasEats #AYCEBBQ π₯©π₯π¬
