🍣 Las Vegas Food Guide: Top Japanese Picks (Sushi & Yakitori) 🍢
Last week’s trip to Las Vegas was busier than expected, but most places had solid safety measures — mask requirements, temperature checks, and social distancing in place. Many restaurants are open for dine-in now, so we got to try two amazing Japanese spots! 1️⃣ Kabuto A premium sushi-focused Omakase experience 🍶 They currently offer one tasting menu at $100 per person, with optional drink pairings or à la carte drinks. Pre-pandemic, they had three pricing tiers — but this one’s totally worth it. 🎯 Highlights: Ingredients are incredibly fresh — flown in daily and hand-selected by the chef Many seafood items are displayed right at the counter in small cases 🐙 The menu changes seasonally — we tried a baby octopus sashimi that was mind-blowing! Even though it’s sushi-centric, every dish was a standout Portions look small, but you’ll leave completely stuffed 😋 You can always order extras if you’re still hungry! 💁 Service & Vibe: Staff is super friendly — the server explained every dish in detail Sit at the counter to chat with the chef 🧑🍳 Our meal lasted about 2 hours 📅 Reservations are a MUST! Opens at 5:30 PM with very limited seating Book at least one week ahead on their website We thought it’d be easier to get a table due to COVID… nope! Almost missed out. 💬 Verdict: Totally worth it — amazing food, service, and atmosphere. A memorable experience for the price! 2️⃣ Toridokoro Raku One of three Raku locations in Vegas — this one specializes in yakitori (grilled skewers) 🍢 We went with the Omakase menu at $75 per person (didn’t feel like overthinking the menu!) 🎯 Highlights: Yakitori is outstanding — not greasy, not tough, with a beautiful charcoal-grilled aroma Hard to go wrong with any skewer order Loved the tofu appetizer and mochi — highly recommend The mango pudding was refreshing and better than the crème brûlée Their noodle dish was just okay — you can skip it 💁 Service & Tips: Staff is warm and welcoming We’d recommend ordering à la carte instead of Omakase to focus on the best items Made reservations by calling a week in advance Note: This location is separate from their other spots — double-check the address! Sweet Raku (dessert sister spot next to Kabuto) is also popular — we were too full to try it! #LasVegasEats #Kabuto #Raku #OmakaseLove #YakitoriGoals #JapaneseCuisine #FoodieReview
