Las Vegas Food is So Delicious!!
I’ve been daydreaming about the meals I had in Vegas since coming back… I’m so hungry just thinking about it 😭 🍲 X-POT Let’s start with the most debated spot – X-POT’s Wagyu hot pot. Many think it’s overpriced at $160 per person, but coming from the Bay Area… my family usually spends around $100 per person at Hai Di Lao just to feel full. Here, my husband alone ate five lobsters 🦞, plus unlimited Wagyu 🥩, foie gras, and uni. The $70 upgrade felt worth it to me! Everything was tasty – no disappointments. Their tom yum broth was amazing with both Wagyu and lobster – cut through the richness perfectly (the spicy broth was just okay). The live lobster in hot pot was incredible – not heavy, so you could keep eating! ⚠️ Downsides: Lobster and Wagyu came out super slow – like they were afraid we’d eat too much 😅. And not sure if I’m overthinking, but why did they serve us five portions of fried rice and a plate of dumplings first… to fill us up? 🥟 🥩 Samurai A spot with almost no negative reviews online – and my No. 1 restaurant of this trip! Service was excellent, and the BBQ was unreal. We tried the new K5 Wagyu platter and beef boat – the first few slices of K5 were mind-blowing, but since I almost finished the whole platter myself, I got a bit overwhelmed by the end. The fix? A pot of plum wine 🍷 + hot sake – instantly ready for round two! Finished with a bowl of their new Japanese tantan noodles to balance out all that meat. A tipsy, happy, meat-filled night ✨ 🦆 Wing Lei Michellin-starred Chinese? This experience was… complicated. The first bite of Peking duck had my faux-Beijing husband ranting – “Why does it taste like plum? The skin isn’t crispy – poor technique!” I told him Cantonese-style duck is different… but he said, “Then don’t call it Peking duck!” Before serving, they release white smoke around the duck – he laughed and said, “Are they trying to gas us before the meal?” 🫠 I thought it was okay at first, but after his comments… and the slow service meant we had to finish the whole “plum duck” on its own. Then came a Libyan ham fried rice – I just picked out the ham and ate the egg fried rice. The chef can really cook – that fried rice was so good, they should just sell egg fried rice! Overall, skip the duck and the meal would’ve been a success… 🎁 Two “Good Deal” Spots: 🇫🇷 La Fontain – used Amex breakfast credits here! 👨🍳 Hell’s Kitchen – I didn’t fully get the Wellington steak 🥩, but my partner loved it. I enjoyed the lobster risotto and pumpkin soup – and yes, dipping the leftover risotto in Wellington jus might be basic, but it was a god-tier finish 😂 😢 Time to go back to the Bay Area and eat plain rice again… #BayAreaLife #LasVegasTravel #LasVegasFood #USATravel 🎲
