Le Bernardin is truly delicious (2)๐
When it comes to choosing dishes, both Little Mango and Little Shark ordered different items from the prix fixe menu. ๐ My personal favorites included the almost raw tuna carpaccio, the barely touched langoustine, the lightly cooked Dover sole, and the dessert strawberry. ๐The tuna and Dover sole were so delicious that they were truly shocking in a good way. Before eating, you can check out a YouTube video where Eric Ripert demonstrates how to make this tuna dish. ๐ He mentions that the protein in tuna denatures when it comes into contact with lemon juice, so drizzling lemon juice over it is essentially cooking the tuna. ๐There was also just the right amount of foie gras (only a thin layer), toast (also just a thin layer), olive oil (barely noticeable), and chives that were full of onion flavor. The restrained elegance in cooking reached its peak in this dish. #NewYork ๐๐ข
