🍴 Lisbon's Fine Dining: Michelin Two-Star Belcanto 🌟🌟
💶 Tasting menu at 250 euros per person, with a suggested 10% service charge. 🏆 It's one of only two Michelin two-star restaurants in Lisbon and all of Portugal, and it was recently ranked 31st on the 2024 World's 50 Best list. Since I only had one fine dining reservation in Lisbon, I was torn between the two options. A friend recommended this place for its excellent food, so I booked it. I must say, it was a very successful choice. The service, ambiance, and taste were all outstanding, especially the way they handle the ingredients and the flavors of the dishes. 🍽️ Poached Egg with Truffle: The texture of the egg was incredibly good, arguably the best I've ever had. It was runny yet just set, with a rich egg aroma and stunning presentation, wrapped in a layer of gold leaf. Red Prawn Dish: The dish was beautifully plated, like a painting. The prawns were cooked to perfection with a runny center, paired with raw beetroot and cuttlefish. The sauce had a rich, shrimp roe flavor that was simply divine. Spring Onion Tempura with Mahi-Mahi: The tempura was well-fried with a thin batter. The fish was cooked just right, tender and juicy, and the clear broth underneath was also delicious. Lamb: The regular menu features lamb, which was excellent with no gamey taste at all. I don't eat lamb, so I had it replaced with beef, which was average. The vegetables and the pastry filled with beef were better. Cookie Ice Cream: The caramel-flavored ice cream with a hint of ham was decent. The plate was adorable, shaped like a piglet. Rice Pudding: The flavor was good, but I detected a slight gamey taste in the ice cream. The thin slice on top was a pattern woven by the chef's grandmother, very delicate. 🌟: Worth trying; worth revisiting. #FoodCritic #Lisbon #LisbonFood #LisbonRestaurants #Portugal #MichelinTwoStars
