Lisbon - A Surprise Art Chapter

🥲The art chapter is here! I thought there weren't many important artists from Portugal, but Lisbon's museums are truly full of surprises. If you're visiting the Jerónimos Monastery, you'll pass by museums of all sizes along the way, so plan ahead and don't miss out. Here are two art museums that are definitely worth a visit: MAAT: The full name is Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology. Its mission is to establish an open relationship between culture and social change through the means of imagination (Art), living (Architecture), and creation (Technology). The main building was designed by the renowned British architect Amanda Levete, combining an elegant white streamlined new structure with a century-old power plant transformed into a red-brick old building. 💡Surprise: The architecture is part of the tour, and the two new and old buildings are very eye-catching! Visitors come over from the opposite skywalk and first arrive at the new building's hill-like roof, from where they can directly overlook the vast sea view and the famous April 25th Bridge, and also see the large Christ statue on the other side! 💡After walking on the roof, you can enter the exhibition hall along a winding route. Currently, the museum is exhibiting an exhibition by Joana Vasconcelos and a collection exhibition from the foundation. The main focus is on large-scale installations, where visitors can freely move around and have a great experience. It's also a great place for taking photos! 💡The architecture of this museum instantly transports you to a North African garden. Large tropical plants and desert-colored rock geometric buildings perfectly match the blue sky, sea, and sunset coast. Commerce Square: In the central seaside square of Lisbon, there are several sculptures by the famous sculptor Tony Cragg! It's also recommended to go and take a photo 😉 #Lisbon #Portugal #GreatPlace #GreatPlaceRecommendation #Attractions
