Lisbon Food Exploration | Belém Pastries

☎️ +351 213637423 🕗 8:00-22:00 🌟For my first breakfast back in Lisbon from Barcelona, I arranged to visit the famous century-old shop, Pastéis de Belém, located next to the birthplace of Portuguese tarts, the Jerónimos Monastery. There was a long line at the entrance of the original store, but you can actually go in through the left side door to dine; the space inside is quite large, and you can usually find an empty spot. 🌟I expected the pastries to be on the sweet and rich side, so I was fine with the sweetness level. The crust is super crispy and doesn’t have much egg flavor; the texture is quite dense, different from KFC’s. As you can see in the second picture, there’s cinnamon powder and powdered sugar on the table, which I found sweet enough on their own. I added some cinnamon powder, and it was quite nice~ 🌟The price of 1.4 euros per pastry is pretty reasonable. A friend asked if it’s more cost-effective to buy 6 for 8.4 euros. The only savory item on the table for breakfast was fried dumplings, which were a bit heavy after eating. The other desserts weren’t memorable, but the pastries are definitely worth a try. #BelémPastryShop #BelémPastries #BelémPortugueseTarts #PortugalTravel #PortugalFood #PortugalFoodRecommendations #LisbonPortugal #LisbonTravel #Lisbon #LisbonFood #LisbonFoodExploration #LisbonFoodTrip #LisbonTourism #EggTarts #ButterflyCrisps #RestaurantRecommendations #GlobalFoodieSquad #FoodCollector #OnlyFoodCanHealAll
