Luxor Travel Guide 1 - Embracing the Golden Breeze of the Nile 🌄
Luxor was the first stop on our Egypt adventure! 👏 Originally, we planned to start in Aswan, but due to limited time (and wanting to save more days for Cairo), we had to skip it. This post captures our magical first afternoon in Luxor! ✈️ Flight: MS274 (CAI-LXR) - Landed at 15:45 Important Note ✊: Like Cairo Airport, Luxor Airport charges an entry fee for vehicles. Workaround: Walk ~100m to the exit and have your driver pick you up roadside to avoid the fee. 🏨 Hotel: Iberotel Luxor Most Luxor hotels line the Nile—this one is just 7 mins walk to Luxor Temple. Pros: Cozy lobby (great for post-checkout lounging!), strong AC, warm lighting. Cons: Slightly dated decor. Room Tip: Splurge on a Nile-view room—worth every penny! ⛵️ Felucca Sunset Sail After settling in, we checked sunset time (19:34) and headed out at 18:00. No advance booking needed—boatmen approached us near the hotel! Deal: 600 EGP (~$20) for a private 1-hour sail (boarded at 18:20, disembarked 19:25). Experience: The captain doubled as a photographer, helping capture the Nile’s ever-changing golden hues. The river breeze? Pure magic. #NileRiver #Luxor #LuxorTemple #EgyptTravel #Felucca #SunsetSail #GoldenHour #Wanderlust
