Madrid's Retiro Park~
Parque del Retiro, full name Buen Retiro Park, is one of the largest urban parks in the center of Madrid. Area: Approximately 125 hectares Designers: Completed by multiple historical figures and designers, mainly in the 17th century, with transformations and expansions mainly in the 18th and 19th centuries. 😎 Retiro Park was built in the 17th century and was originally the private garden and entertainment area of Philip IV. It wasn't until the 19th century that the park was opened to the public, becoming a public leisure space in Madrid. 😎 Palacio de Cristal Built in 1887, the building features a glass and steel structure, imitating London's Crystal Palace. The Crystal Palace is located next to a small lake (it was closed today, couldn't go in, but there were two sisters playing the accordion🪗 outside, and the atmosphere was particularly nice). 😎 Estanque del Retiro The central lake of the park, where visitors can rent boats to row on the lake. The Monument to Alfonso XII stands majestically by the lake, completed by several renowned sculptors. 😎 La Rosaleda The rose garden is planted with a large number of different varieties of roses (I really can't tell what's what, there are so many varieties!) 😎 Paseo de la Argentina Paseo de las Estatuas, lined with statues of monarchs from various historical periods of Spain. (The sunniest spot in the whole park haha) 😎 Parterre Francés A typical French-style garden with exquisitely trimmed shrubs and flower beds in geometric patterns. This area showcases the intensive maintenance of the garden. Retiro Park is still very beautiful, especially when you have nothing to do, and a few friends have a picnic on the grass, it's really chill!! #Madrid #Spain #LandscapeDesign #GardenDesign #Plants #LandscapeGardening #GardenLandscape #RetiroPark #SpainAttractions
