💐 Madrid's Retiro Park - Parque de El Retiro
This park fulfills all my fantasies about European gardens!! 🌷 After getting out from Metro Retiro, you can first see the Puerta de Alcalá, located in the middle of a busy road, which is quite spectacular and worth stopping to admire. 🌷 The park is free to enter, and it doesn't take long before you come across a lake that is stunning at first sight! The turquoise blue lake is dotted with boats, home to small animals, and filled with the laughter of tourists, making it a perfect place for daydreaming🦆🫧. 🌷 On one side of the lake stands the Monument to Alfonso XII, with a small square that contains some exquisite sculptures. Many people sit on the steps to watch the lake or chat, and sometimes play musical instruments. 🌷 Further in, you'll find the famous Crystal Palace, which unfortunately is temporarily closed during this period😭. However, even looking from the outside is still a little shocking; this type of architecture is quite rare. In front of the Crystal Palace, there is a fountain lake with black swans and wild ducks, and falling leaves🍂, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. 🌷 Not far from the Crystal Palace is the Velázquez Palace, where we happened to watch a modern art exhibition. If you're not in a hurry, you can go in to have a look; the exhibitions change with each period. 🌷 The park also has many sculptures and fountains⛲️. By walking and stopping, you'll discover many distinctive things. The Retiro Park is quite large, so you can first visit the key spots and then leisurely stroll around. Many local citizens come here to walk their dogs and take a stroll, creating a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. It's highly recommended for those, like me, who yearn for a slow-paced lifestyle🦋🪄. #Europe #Spain #Madrid #MadridRestaurants #MadridRestaurantRecommendations
