Magical Edinburgh 🏴
Edinburgh is so beautiful, it feels like real-life magic 🪄—once you arrive, you won’t want to leave! Everywhere you look, there’s Gothic architecture, amazing seafood (cheaper than London!), and attractions all within walking distance. Plus, fewer crowds, no pickpockets, and so safe even for solo female travelers at night. I kept changing my train tickets… and even after leaving, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. 💭 1️⃣ Getting There From London, you can take a train or flight. I recommend the train—scenic views + WiFi 🛜! Book a week early for better prices. I booked last-minute (💰£2100 round-trip for 2), then realized 2 days wasn’t enough! Changed my ticket (cost £100). 2️⃣ Best Train Window Shots 📸 After 3 hours from London: Stunning views near Newcastle. 45 mins before Edinburgh: Bridges + sea landscapes 🌊, plus random sheep & cottages! 3️⃣ Getting Around Edinburgh is super walkable! 🚶♀️ Taxis: Cheap (£7-10 citywide) but slow—we never used them. Buses: No Oyster cards here (embarrassing moment when I tried 😂). Their own system costs ~£5/day (slightly pricier than London). ⚠️ Avoid the "+bus ticket" train add-on—drivers won’t accept it! 4️⃣ Food Recs 🍽️ Mussel Inn Seafood Restaurant 🦞: Fresh seafood platter + bread-dipping sauce is a must! Random station café: £3.5 wings, £1.7 refillable coffee/beer + great window views! The Elephant House ☕: Best nachos ever (even better than Mexico’s!). ❌ Skip the overhyped "Gourmet" spot—not worth it! Haggis? Try it once, then stick to steak, brunch, or pizza. (Want a full Scottish food guide? Let me know!) 5️⃣ Where to Stay 🏨 Most hotels are similar (unless you splurge 💸). Budget: ~£180/night (New Town = best location). Bring slippers & a toothbrush—most hotels don’t provide them! #TravelTips #HarryPotter #EdinburghTravel #UKTravelGuide #TravelDeeper #Wanderlust
