🛕 Makli Necropolis is one of the largest graveyards in the world, located in Thatta, Sindh, Pakistan, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🛕 Since the medieval period, this land was ruled by powerful dynasties, and their rulers were buried here after death. Over time, the necropolis gradually took shape. Across four centuries of change, Makli became the final resting place for over a million people, preserving tales of empires, court intrigues, and legends of heroes, healers, and saints. 🛕 The site still stands today, where ancient rituals and stories continue to unfold. Every day, pilgrims visit to make offerings, bury their loved ones, and seek guidance from their ancestors, considering Makli their eternal sanctuary. The Love Story of the King and the Fisherwoman ❤️ During the Samma dynasty, Jam Tamachi, the ruler of Sindh, was an avid hunter. Near Keenjhar Lake in Sindh, there was a small village surrounded by forests—a perfect hunting ground. After one such hunt, the king arrived at the lake and there he saw Noori (Nūrī). ❤️ At first glance, the king fell deeply in love with this beautiful woman and married her without hesitation. He cherished Noori’s simplicity, humility, and gentle demeanor and even promised her that she could return to her village from time to time after moving to the palace. ❤️ However, as king, Jam already had six other wives, all from noble Samma clans. Noori’s sudden rise as the king’s favorite fueled their jealousy, as they believed her humble origins made her unworthy of royalty. They schemed relentlessly to eliminate her, though the king initially ignored their accusations. ❤️ One day, when Noori handed a wooden box to her brother, the king and his soldiers suddenly appeared. The king snatched the box and flung it open—only to find fish bones and bread crumbs inside, not the stolen jewels his other wives had accused her of taking. ❤️ Because of her kindness and integrity, Noori eventually became the most beloved woman in the kingdom. Sadly, she passed away while the king was still alive.
