Manchester's Top Seafood Spot | The Oystercatcher
A must-visit oyster restaurant with a Google rating of 4.8! 🦪 If you love oysters, you’ve got to try this place. ❤️Cape Wrath Oyster £6 Fresh and delicious, served with lemon and Mignonette. The tangy red wine vinegar and onion juice add a perfect zing! 👅 ❤️Scallop (three) £15, Extra £4 each I chose this restaurant specifically for their large scallops. I don’t know why I’m so into scallops this year, but this place is a guaranteed hit. After the first bite, I knew I’d be back. The heart-shaped shells add a sentimental value. The base is cauliflower puree mixed with gremolata sauce, featuring the aroma of parsley, lemon zest, and garlic. It’s a flavor explosion! At this point, a touch of orange zest would send me to heaven. ❤️Seafood Platter for 2 £59 Whole sea bream, red tiger prawns, mussels, squid (grilled or fried), broccoli, and pointed cabbage. Let me just say, the portion is huge—we ended up taking some home. The vegetables are slightly oily, but that’s perfectly fine. The squid is large and a bit soft. There are six large prawns. The fish is a whole fillet, tender inside, and delicious when dipped in the sauce—it’s creamy and rich. The menu is on page 7, and the ambiance is on page 6. Average cost per person: £30-40 Service charge: 10% For two people, the total was £88. Getting there is easy by taxi, or you can take bus number 86, which stops right in front of the restaurant.
