Mandarin Oriental NYC: A Room with a View, But... 🏙️🍂
Perched at the southwestern edge of Central Park, the Premier Central Park View Suite might just offer one of the most breathtaking views in all of New York. From this corner suite, you gaze left upon the vibrant, colorful tapestry of Central Park in autumn, and look right across the iconic skyline of Manhattan’s south side. It’s a picture-perfect scene — almost poetic in its beauty. The service here reflects Mandarin Oriental’s well-known standards: thoughtful, polished, and discreet. A lovely mini tea set was brought to our room, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful afternoon tea facing the park — no need to join the crowd at the MO Lounge. 🫖☺️ That said, the constant availability of coffee and tea delivered by staff — while feeling a bit like butler service — also hints at a downside: the minibar isn’t fully equipped. You won’t find a coffee machine or kettle in the room. In terms of space, the suite is generous and includes a double bathroom setup. Yet, it’s impossible to ignore how dated the interiors feel. The decor is noticeably old-fashioned, and the hotel openly acknowledges that renovations are overdue. There were also minor maintenance issues during my stay, and several park-view rooms are unfortunately blocked by a neighboring hotel. 🏢🚫 It’s worth noting — this is the same hotel recently mentioned in public discussions about insensitive decor choices. While the view is spectacular, the value for money is undeniably low. Unless you’re set on collecting another iconic fan pin 🪭, it’s hard to justify the price. Still… that view really is something else. 💫 #MandarinOrientalNYC #CentralParkView #LuxuryHotelReview #NYCStay #HotelWithAView #MOFan
