Manhattan, New York | My family is boiling live fish in this pot‼
✨ You must, must order the Sizzling Boiled Fish‼️ And remember to ask the owner for a fresh fish‼️ I’m someone who really dislikes fish slices with a “mealy” texture, so as soon as I sat down, I asked if the fish on the menu was fresh. She said we could pay an extra $3 for a whole perch, and we agreed~ I didn’t have high expectations at first, but it was such a pleasant surprise when it arrived! The fish was sliced perfectly—only a few big bones, and the head and tail were included. There were also glass noodles, lotus root slices, and kelp knots in the pot, and the portion was huge. If you’re two people, just order two bowls of rice and this—you’ll be full. Finding boiled fish this good in Manhattan is honestly a nice shock 😲~ We also ordered a few other things: ✨ Boiled Beef Lao Wang doesn’t like fish, so he insisted on this—same cooking style, but with meat. It was pretty good! Lots of beef, and super tender. The aroma of the chili oil on top was amazing. Funny enough, two guys at the next table finished ordering, then saw our boiled beef, called the server over, and changed their order 😂 (but I still prefer the fish 🐟). ✨ Dan Dan Noodles Not the sesame sauce-drenched kind—it’s more like the dan dan noodles from back home: spicy broth with minced meat and greens on top. I personally prefer this version, but Lao Wang still likes the sesame sauce one better. ✨ Stir-Fried Luffa with Shrimp Roe A light, refreshing veggie dish. The luffa wasn’t bitter—solid, as expected. ✨ Szechuan Gourmet ✨ 21 W 39th St, New York, NY 10018 That’s it for today’s share—if I made you hungry, give it a like before you go!
