Mexico City | A Day Warmed by Kindness 🌞❤️

Wrapped for the day! Today’s mission was to find a formal dress. I was asking around in the central old town, and a girl at a tailor shop heard I needed a ready-to-wear gown and immediately said: “Let me take you to look!” She walked out with me right away to help me find one. Unexpectedly, we ended up spending the whole day together. At one point she went back to her shop to handle something, then came out and said she was off work—and continued to accompany me! 😲 I was shocked: “Off at 2 PM? That would never happen in China!” Turns out she’s the owner. In the afternoon, her boyfriend came to pick her up, and the two of them kept accompanying me around. Mexico City’s downtown shopping area is like Chunxi Road—we went on a crazy shopping spree! 🛍️💃 They took me through old castles, churches, and altars, telling me stories about each place along the way. I offered to treat them to hotpot, but they refused—insisting that no matter what I wanted to eat, it was on them. They drove halfway across the city to help me deliver the dress, then showed me around a huge part of the city. At every interesting spot, they made sure to explain it to me in detail. 🏰⛪📖 Later, we went to the most popular taco spot in Mexico City. Every branch of this chain in the city has long lines—this one was no exception, packed with people. But they walked me straight in—no waiting! It felt like being a regular at a hotpot place in Chengdu, seated directly without a queue. I finished one taco, and they brought another. We talked about table manners, festivals, business, the growing number of Chinese here in recent years, birth rates… everything! 🌮🤗💬 Near the end, I said they didn’t need to drive me back—that I could take an Uber. They immediately switched up, firmly refusing: “We would never leave you alone.” Then they drove me 40 minutes back to my place. 🚗💨 Mexico City and its people are so incredibly warm. Sunshine is free, fresh air is free, and people’s smiles are free—so what do I have to worry about? 😊💛 Grateful for these kind souls—they’re like sunshine, warming my heart from the inside. ☀️📸 #EveryDayWorthRemembering #MexicoCity #Warmth #Kindness #TravelDiary
