🏰 Mexico City | Thanksgiving Adventure
Here’s my fresh & fun recap of my trip to CDMX and Guanajuato: Guanajuato is a 5-hour bus ride—and ABSOLUTELY worth it! 🚌💺 Took the ETN bus from Mexico Norte. ⚠️ Make sure your ticket says “Guanajuato” – not “Guadalajara” (don’t ask how I know 😅). Must-eat: Costra tacos with cheese at Ttela Pibil – the BEST I had on the whole trip! 🧀🌮 Also loved: Bailey’s pudding 🍮, fresh fruit shaved ice 🍓, and Elotes y Esquites Tere (though we missed it – they closed early 😢). The town is small – you can explore it all in one day. Fun fact: Locals even asked to take photos with us! 📸 Hot Air Balloon & Pyramids 🎈🌄 Woke up at 4:30 AM… still missed the sunrise. Freezing on the ground → roasted alive up in the balloon for 1 hour. Honestly… a bit overrated unless you’re super committed. Teotihuacán Pyramids: Our tour group stayed 1 hour. Very sunny – almost no shade! ☀️😵 Bring a hat & water! Polanco & Roma Neighborhoods 🏡🌳 Felt like Shanghai… but with fewer shops. Not a huge shopping destination fashion-wise. BUT the trees and greenery are INCREDIBLE! 🌿❤️ “How are the plants so perfectly styled? How are the trees so cute??” Every house is uniquely designed – I wanted to move into every single one! Coffee & Drinks ☕🍓 Starbucks’ Strawberry Matcha is refreshing! Most local coffee is served hot and cinnamony… When I finally had normal iced coffee back in the US, I cried tears of joy 😭 Taco Fatigue is Real 🌮😬 All tacos are delicious… but after a while, they started tasting the same. Shoutout to Santo Cafe in Guanajuato – so good! Dalongyi Hotpot in CDMX was just okay. Motion Sickness Warning! 🚗💊 Mexican drivers rarely use A/C – windows down + crazy traffic = constant braking. If you get carsick, bring meds!! #MexicoCity #Guanajuato #TravelGuide #CDMX #FoodDiary #HotAirBalloon #Pyramids
