🌆 Mexico City Travel Diary: Final Day Vibes 📜
Last day in CDMX 🇲🇽! Finally hit Zócalo and the historic heart of the city. The gigantic Mexican flag 🚩 waving over the plaza = GOOSEBUMPS! Paired with the Catedral Metropolitana 🏛️—a stunner! Even as a non-religious person, I pop into churches worldwide. 🙏 Next to the cathedral? Templo Mayor 🏺 (Aztec ruins!). Closed on Mondays, but the outdoor ruins were still epic. 🚶♂️ Wandered through endless plazas, churches, and museums—Palacio de Bellas Artes 🎨, Museo Nacional de Arte 🖼️, Palacio Postal ✉️, and Casa de los Azulejos 🧱 (tile-covered mansion!). Felt like Spain 2.0! 🇪🇸 Dinner at Contramar 🍽️: Our only fancy meal in Mexico City! Paid ~2,700 pesos ($160 USD) for two. Tostadas de atún 🐟 = MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH! Tostadas de vieira 🐚 and soft-shell crab 🦀 were winners. The fish? Meh. 🐟 No rezzo? Bar seats it is! 🍸 Chatted with a NYC-based author 📚 across the counter. She’s promoting her second book! Grilled her about writing/publishing. 💡 Maybe I’ll finally start that novel… 📖 Last stop: Handshake Speakeasy 🥃! Ended with a mezcal 🌵 and bourbon 🥃 cocktail. Irony? Never tried tequila in its homeland. 😅 #MexicoCity #ZócaloMagic #CDMXFoodie 🌮✨
