Michelin one-star French restaurant in New York--l'abeille

🔸 The first course is foie gras, served with whipped sweet potato puree on top. The rich foie gras bursts in your mouth with each bite, and the inclusion of grapefruit pearls in the middle perfectly offsets the sweetness of the foie gras. Follow it up with a crunchy bite of sweet potato chips – a perfect combination! 🔹 The second course is crab legs, paired with coconut mousse and a fruit tart. The flavors are sweet and tangy, a delightful mix. 🔸 Truffle risotto with a hot spring egg – a true testament to the Japanese-French fusion restaurant! This risotto is so fragrant it could make your eyebrows drop, and they're really generous with the black truffle. 🔹 Mackerel, served with lettuce and sweet lemon to cut through the richness. The fish is fresh and juicy, and the lemon is surprisingly sweet and not sour at all! Each bite feels like swimming in the deep sea. And don't the garnished lettuce leaves look like swaying seaweed? 🔸 For the main course, we chose venison and beef. Personally, I'm not particularly fond of the gamey taste of the venison, so I'll refrain from commenting on it. But the ribeye steak is exceptional! Even the elderly couple at the next table couldn't stop praising it. The beef is tender and juicy, with the fat-to-lean ratio perfectly balanced. 🔹 For dessert we had a cute kiwi fruit with ice cream. I'm not entirely satisfied that I didn't get to try their signature honeycomb cake, but no worries, there's always next time. 🍴l'abeille 412 Greenwich St New York, NY 10013 #l'abeille #New York #food diary #Michelin
