Michelin-Recommended Restaurant by Korean Chef Pierre Sang

🧡Chef Pierre Sang is a renowned figure in the culinary world. He has opened several Korean-French fusion restaurants across different districts in Paris, each with varying price points but consistently high-quality food. While there are many Japanese-French fusion options in Paris, Korean-French fusion is relatively rare, making it quite intriguing. 🧡Although I'm not a big fan of Korean cuisine, after watching some interviews with the chef, I was eager to try his food. The overall experience was really great. I visited the Oberkampf location, which offers great value for money. The ambiance is dimly lit and very French, with a hidden menu that feels like a surprise box. The 51.5 EUR dinner set includes six courses and a glass of white wine, which is quite a bargain. The six courses consist of one amuse bouche, two entrées, one plat, one cheese course, and one dessert. They also ask about any dietary restrictions. 🧡When the dishes arrive, the staff won't tell you what they are. Instead, they let you taste them first and then ask for your opinion. It's quite an interesting approach. The amuse bouche was a combination of kimchi and rice dumplings. The dumplings were slightly crispy, but the kimchi was a bit too salty. Overall, it had a strong Korean flavor. The two entrées were delicious. One featured leeks with mushroom sauce and some Korean sauce, while the other was fish with Korean-style sauce. 🧡Since I don't eat pork, my plat was chicken with vegetables and Korean chili sauce. The chicken was prepared in a classic French style, and the Korean chili sauce didn't feel out of place. It was a novel combination, though the chicken was a bit dry. 🧡The cheese course was Camembert with yuzu sauce, which was definitely on the Asian side! The dessert was a chocolate mousse with roasted pears and sorbet. The sorbet added a refreshing contrast to the rich chocolate, which was a nice touch. For this price, getting a Michelin-level dining experience is really worth it!
