Michelin-Recommended Wild Game in Canada 🦌 Worth a Try!

Last weekend was a friend’s birthday, so we made an early reservation at this Michelin-recommended wild game restaurant 🦌. The place isn’t big, but it was packed! The dim lighting created a very cozy atmosphere. I was a bit hesitant about trying wild game, but my friend has always wanted to, so I decided to go for it! We ordered two appetizers, two main courses, a dessert, and a cocktail. Overall, it was a great experience! 🌟 Pan Roasted Venison Rack: I was initially reluctant to try venison, but with my friend’s strong recommendation, I took the first bite—and then many more! It’s more tender than steak with no gamey taste. There’s a hint of smokiness and liver flavor, which I found quite pleasant. Paired with parsnip purĆ©e and berry sauce, it was deliciously balanced. The bone had a smoky, woody aroma—so fragrant! 🌟 Wild Boar Cavatelli: I chose what I thought was a more approachable wild game. Honestly, if no one told me this was made with the fierce-looking šŸ—, I’d think it was just regular pork. The pasta was loaded with shredded meat and cheese, making it rich and flavorful, though a bit heavy. 🌟 Venison Tartare: For the appetizer, we had to try the venison tartare! If we weren’t told it was venison, we would’ve thought it was just a regular steak tartare. The seasoning was spot on, with no gamey taste, and the meat was tender. Paired with rye crisps, it’s definitely worth a try! 🌟 Smoked Wedge Salad: A wedge salad is typically a whole head of lettuce cut in half or quarters. The smoky lettuce in this dish was surprisingly tasty—it reminded me of grilled cabbage! The highlights were the šŸ— pancetta and pumpkin seeds—such an interesting combo. 🌟 Antler Affogato: For dessert, we had the special of the day. Their affogato didn’t include coffee; instead, the ice cream was whisky barrel infused! They let the ice cream base absorb the flavors from the whisky barrel before freezing it, then topped it with walnut liqueur. Very creative! 🌟 Duck a L’orange: The waitress recommended this cocktail made with duck fat-infused Wild Turkey Bourbon, maple syrup, and orange bitters. It was smooth and refreshing—perfect for cutting through the richness šŸ¹. šŸ’µ The total for two was $200. #FoodieExploration #HiddenGemRestaurants #CozyDining #TorontoWildGame #TorontoFoodie #TorontoEats ### Name: Antler Address: 1454 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1Y6 Type: Restaurant ###
