Milwaukee & Madison | 2-Day Travel Guide ๐โจ
Milwaukee is Wisconsinโs largest city, located on the shores of Lake Michigan ๐, while Madison, the state capital, is also beautifully set by a lake. Though many travelers head straight to Chicago (just 1.5 hours away), this region is well worth a visit โ especially for beer lovers ๐ป! Milwaukee is packed with craft breweries, and if youโre an NBA fan, you can catch a Bucks game โ check their website for schedules! Two days are perfect to explore both cities. Day 1: Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Museum ๐๏ธ โ $24 (My favorite! Allow 2 hours) Milwaukee Art Museum ๐ผ๏ธ โ $27 (A must-see! Plan 3-4 hours) Milwaukee Public Market ๐ง โ Local cheeses, sausages & more โ ๏ธ Fairly small โ donโt expect too much. 30 mins is enough. ๐ The seafood stall is highly rated. โ Try Benelux Coffee across the street for brunch! Brewery Tours ๐บ โ Lakefront Brewery or Miller Brewery for beer enthusiasts Day 2: Madison (1.5-hour drive from Milwaukee) ๐๏ธ Wisconsin State Capitol ๐ University of Wisconsin-Madison ๐ณ Lake Mendota Loop Trail โ 16 km lakeside hike (Download offline map via AllTrails: โLake Mendota Loopโ) ๐ Saturday Public Market around the Capitol (if timed right!) ๐ฝ๏ธ Restaurant Recommendations Milwaukee: Maderโs Restaurant โ Historic German spot (opened circa 1900). Great atmosphere, food was okay. Lake Park Bistro โ French cuisine ๐ฅ Koppโs Frozen Custard โ Popular local ice cream ๐ฆ (Flavors change every 2 days โ check ahead. Honestly, it was just fine.) Madison: The Old Fashioned ๐ง โ Highly recommended! Try the fried cheese curds and fish fry. ๐๏ธ Nearby Attraction Chicago โ Check out my other guides for more! ๐๏ธ #Milwaukee #Madison #Wisconsin #USRoadTrip #TravelUSA #ExploreAmerica #FoodieGuide #NBABasketball #CraftBeer #LakeLife
