Milwaukee | A Stunning Lakeside Oyster Encounter 🦞🌊
Sitting by the crystal-clear lake, ordering a plate of fresh oysters, and pairing it with a refreshing beer… Basking in the sunlight while admiring the shimmering waters reflecting the fishbone-like architecture—this is the scene at Harbor House, a lakeside restaurant in Milwaukee that I’m excited to share with you today! 🏞️🍴 The restaurant is located right on the shore, next to the Milwaukee Art Museum. You can find street parking or opt for the restaurant’s $6 valet parking. Reservations are recommended during peak season (credit card required), but you can also walk in when it’s less busy. The venue is divided into two sections: the main dining area and the bar. If you’re just here for oysters, the bar is a great spot! The oyster display and chalkboard show all the varieties available each day. They’re categorized into East Coast, West Coast, and Chef’s Selection. East and West Coast oysters are $3.25 each, with half-dozen for $19 or a dozen for $38. The Chef’s Selection is $4.25 each, half-dozen for $25 or dozen for $50. The server will arrange them in order and give you a guide so you can tell which is which—so fun! 😄 We ordered a half-dozen of each type (I’ve labeled them in the pics 🦪), along with two beers. All the oysters were cleaned thoroughly—hardly any sand—plump, and super fresh. Personally, I preferred the East Coast ones for flavor, though the West Coast oysters were bigger. We also tried their chowder, which was delicious—highly recommend! The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. If the weather is warmer, try snagging a seat deeper inside near the lakeview windows. We chose a spot with a perfect view of the fishbone-like art museum against the bright blue lake… We’ll definitely be back! 💙 #Milwaukee #Oyster #HarborHouse #LakeMichigan #LakesideDining #FoodAndView #Wisconsin
