Milwaukee Food Adventure | How Good Is This Top Chef-Approved Spot?
The super cool Korean-American chef Kristen Kish (from Top Chef!) came to Wisconsin to film — so of course, I had to follow her footsteps to try this traditional Serbian family restaurant! 🇷🇸✨ If you like: 💰 Cheap and huge portions 🏠 Multi-generational family recipes 🫣 Trying something totally new …then give this place a shot! (Let’s be real — Milwaukee isn’t exactly a food paradise anyway 😅) 🍇 Stuffed Grape Leaves Grape leaves wrapped around rice, served with feta, olives, and lemon — super tangy! Great if you love sour flavors or need an appetite boost. 🦆 Roast Duck Only $33 for half a duck! 🦆🔥 Freshly roasted — super crispy skin and fall-off-the-bone tender. Served piping hot! 👎 downside: lacks spice and the sides are just okay. 🥟 Burek (Savory Pie) Their signature dish — and the portion is HUGE! 🤯 Perfect for sharing with family. Spinach & cheese filling 👍 Beef filling 👎 (a bit bland and slightly gamey) 🍰 Pastries The phyllo dough is expertly made — thin and crispy. But that’s not ideal for strudel. If you want real German apple strudel, go to Mader’s! The baklava here is worth trying, though 🍯. ⚠️ Heads-up: 1️⃣ Popular spot — make reservations on weekends or for groups. 2️⃣ Cash or check only 💵. There’s an ATM next door (in the pizza shop). 3️⃣ Many dishes take ~1 hour to bake — super fresh but be ready for a long meal. 4️⃣ Portions are MASSIVE (except desserts!). Overall: ⭐⭐⭐/5 Food is under-spiced and can be bland or heavy — but the prices are fair for the quality. Final thought: Top Chef, please save food-desert Wisconsin! 🙏🍽️ 📍 Three Brothers 2414 S St Clair St, Milwaukee, WI 53207 #MilwaukeeEats #TopChef #SerbianFood #HiddenGem #FoodReview #WisconsinDining #KristenKish
