Milwaukee Food Guide: A Delicious Surprise! 🍽️✨
Over Labor Day weekend, we took a relaxed road trip from Minnesota to Milwaukee, Wisconsin 🚗💨. We spent three days and two nights exploring at a leisurely pace — and surprisingly, every meal was a hit! Here are my genuine recommendations to support this underrated food city: 🌶️ Sze Chuan Restaurant – The best of the trip! As someone from Chengdu, I can vouch for their authentic Sichuan flavors. Grilled Fish 🐟: Just like the ones from back-alley restaurants on Kehua North Road! Saliva Chicken 😋: Free-range chicken — tender meat with crispy skin. Snow Cabbage with Tofu Skin: Surprisingly delicious! 🦞 St. Paul Fish Company We went at 6 PM on a Saturday and waited an hour — but it was worth it! Blue Point Oysters ($1.75 each): Fresh but a bit small. Lobster Roll: Packed with fresh, sweet, crispy lobster meat. Fried Cod: Recommended by the server — solid choice! Clam Chowder: Standard. Piña Colada: Okay. Red Stripe Beer 🍺: Surprisingly tasty! 🍻 Lakefront Brewery Tour – $13/person A one-hour guided tour around the brewery + 4 beer samples + a high-quality beer glass 🥂 (which you can refill after the tour!). Great fresh beer — super worth it! 🍚 Thainamite Brady A casual Thai spot in a nearby neighborhood after the beer tour. Hawaiian Fried Rice & Pad Thai: Both delicious! The Pad Thai came wrapped in a cute egg blanket 🍳 — perfect for a light meal. 🍳 Mad Rooster Cafe – Best brunch I’ve had in the Midwest (beating Minneapolis and Chicago!). Rich coffee ☕ Homemade granola Greek yogurt with honey and fresh fruit 🍯🍓 Avocado Salmon Benedict 🥑🐟 Mad Omelet with avocado, giant mushrooms, and two pancakes 🥞 Portions were huge — we took half to go! Only ~$25 per person with tax. 🥡 Lucky Bakery & BBQ Before heading back, we grabbed BBQ to-go: Char Siu (BBQ Pork): Irresistible with special spices 😋 Roast Duck 🦆: Smelled amazing — saved it for dinner! Milwaukee, you deliciously surprised us! 💖 #Milwaukee #Wisconsin #FoodGuide #HiddenGems #USATravel
