Milwaukee Half-Day Trip 🏙️🍂
Had to make an unexpected trip to the Milwaukee area this weekend, so I decided to spend half a day exploring! The weather shifted from sunny to cloudy, then overcast 🌤️→☁️… and with over 10,000 steps logged, it just got colder and colder. My biggest takeaway? Milwaukee feels… empty. Aside from a few people in downtown, the riverwalk, lighthouse, and parks were all super quiet. 🏞️ Even along the river, with fancy apartments overhead, it felt like a ghost town—almost no one in sight. I walked the trail from McKinley Park to Government Pier (about a mile 🚶♀️) and only saw two people and one dog 🐕. Hard to believe it was a Saturday in April! For lunch, I went to St. Paul Fish Company—since I don’t come often, I over-ordered knowing I’d take leftovers home. The ingredients were fresh, but overall, it was just okay. 🦞 Lobster Roll: The bread wasn’t particularly buttery or soft, the fries were dry, and the lobster itself was crisp but… doesn’t hold a candle to my all-time favorite, GT Fish & Oyster (RIP 😢). 🐟 Clam Chowder: Pretty watery—glad I only got a cup. 🍤 Fried Walleye: Meant to order cod, but the server recommended walleye. The fish itself was tasty, but it was overcooked. 🍲 Bouillabaisse: Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not a huge fan of seafood in tomato soup—plus the broth was way too salty. Not the most memorable food experience, but the city itself has a quiet, almost melancholic charm… #DayTrip #Milwaukee #TravelDiary #MilwaukeeGuide #MilwaukeeFood #ExploreUSA#Milwaukee #Wisconsin #MidwestVibes #HistoricEats #HiddenGems #FoodieFind #LegacyDining
