Milwaukee Half-Day Trip 😊
Due to some "force majeure," I ended up near Milwaukee on the weekend, so I decided to spend half a day exploring. The weather shifted from sunny to cloudy to overcast ☁️, and after walking over 10,000 steps, I grew colder and colder... My biggest takeaway from the wander? Milwaukee is so sparsely populated! 🤔 Apart from downtown where there were some crowds, along the river, by the lighthouse, and in the parks, only a handful of people were scattered around. Especially by the river—even though there were fancy apartments overhead, they looked like empty buildings~ The trail from McKinley Park to Government Pier stretches a mile, yet I only spotted two people and a dog 🐶. Hard to believe it was a Saturday in April! I had lunch at St Paul. Since it’s not easy to make the trip here, I ordered way more than I could finish, ready to pack the leftovers. The ingredients tasted fresh, but the overall experience was just average. 😐 Lobster Roll: The bread wasn’t fluffy, the fries were dry, and while the lobster meat was crisp, it was no match for my all-time favorite, GT Fish & Oyster... Unfortunately, I can’t have it anymore. 😔 Clam Chowder: It was watery—luckily, I only got a cup. Fried Walleye: I was gonna order fried cod, but the waiter recommended Walleye. The fish meat was pretty good, though the frying was a bit overdone. Bouillabaisse: Maybe it’s just my preference, but I don’t love the combination of seafood and tomato soup. Plus, the soup base was really salty... 😝 #DayTrip #Milwaukee #GoingOut #Wisconsin #PurdueUniversityArea #LakeMichigan #LakeViewRestaurant #FoodAndScenery #Oyster #Harborhouse
