Mizu Izakaya in Denver π£β¨
Finally done with finals and off traveling β today arrived in Denver, Colorado! Before landing, I searched for food and wow β so many good spots π Love it! Booked this popular Japanese place, Mizu Izakaya, right away. π£ Sashimi Ordered an omakase platter β some standard fish sashimi, pretty average. π¦ͺ Oysters Got half a dozen β pretty small, not super sweet or fresh (compared to NY/Philly). Served with vinegar and a bit of green onion β just okay. π₯ Yakitori Lobster tail, mushrooms, chicken skewer. Lobster tail was cooked well but way too salty β probably over-seasoned. Mushrooms were ordinary (tasted like regular grilled king oyster mushrooms). Chicken skewer was tasty but overcooked β some parts were burnt. Used thigh meat but not especially tender. π£ Sushi Uni, scallop, sweet shrimp, and the last roll on the menu with snow crab. All good β uni was fragrant and sweet, scallop soft and tender, sweet shrimp decent. The roll was delicious β topped with scallop, filled with sweet snow crab β soft, sweet, aromatic. Yum! π Pasta Uni Carbonara β sea urchin cream udon. Rich cream + chewy udon + vibrant uni β thick, savory, unanimously loved at our table. π₯© Flamed Steak Served with a flame show (alcohol poured over and lit) β great for grabbing everyoneβs attention.
