Montmartre, not worth it if you’re short on time
Out of all the attractions in Paris, personally, Montmartre has been the most underwhelming. If you’re visiting Paris and time is limited, I suggest skipping this spot for the following reasons: 🗺️The hill for watching the sunset doesn’t face directly west, so you can’t actually see the sun setting on the horizon. Instead, you see the pink and orange hues of the sunset splashed on the cathedral and buildings, which is beautiful, but it’s not the same as a real sunset. 😐🌆The entire area is very touristy. Following online guides to the various checkpoints feels quite ordinary. For example, many people complain about the “I Love You” wall – it’s literally just a wall, not very aesthetically pleasing, and a bit tacky. 👎The street art is nothing to write home about. There are groups of old men painting, and their works look just like the portrait paintings you’d find on the roadside. The other landscape paintings are nothing special that you’d want to buy as a souvenir. 🏙️It’s chaotic and bustling. There are many restaurants and cafes, but they all feel the same, with everyone in a rush. It’s hard to find a place to chill and relax for a bit. #Paris #Montmartre #MontmartrePhotoSpots #MontmartreScenery #ParisSunset
