Montreal | Canada’s No. 1 Restaurant: Vin Mon Lapin 🐇

After my friend booked a table, I realized that this is the top-ranked restaurant in Canada this year! It’s quite an achievement to top the list among all the fancy spots in MTL, so naturally, I was curious and excited to try it out. The restaurant isn’t very big, and the decor is similar to many other Montreal wine bars. Reservations are a must, often needing to be made weeks in advance. The menu isn’t extensive, and the drinks focus mainly on bottled wines, though they also have beer. 🌻 They seem to have recently stocked up on sunflowers and sunflower seeds—you’ll find them in both the fish and desserts. The only downside was that the fish portion was smaller than expected. One of their signature dishes is the scallop sandwich, and you have to try it! It’s a bit greasy, and the sauce doesn’t quite match, but the scallop filling is soft and bouncy, almost like a pudding. The bread is fried and adds a nice crunch—it’s definitely worth ordering. Tomatoes 🍅 are another seasonal ingredient featured in several dishes, including the beef tartare. The presentation is beautiful, and the portion is generous. It’s a unique flavor combination that you won’t find elsewhere. The pasta is handcrafted with care—each strand is rolled out by hand 👨‍🍳 and has a nice, chewy texture. Don’t underestimate the carbs in this dish—it’s on par with high-end Italian restaurants. Of course, the $31 price tag reflects that quality. For dessert, we had the strawberry cake, which was decent, not too sweet, but also not particularly surprising. What stood out were the sunflower leaves and seeds incorporated into it. Many tables ordered a small cake topped with crisps—it looked great for sharing, but since it was just the two of us, we didn’t order it. In total, we had four dishes, one dessert, and a glass of wine, coming to about $100 per person (including tax and tips). I think it’s a rare treat to have this year’s top restaurant right here in MTL, so it’s worth a try while it’s still at the top. The pricing isn’t overly steep, so it’s a worthwhile indulgence. ❤️ #MontrealFoodie #MontrealEats #MontrealLiving #Montreal #RestaurantReview #DessertLover #CanadaEats ### Name: Vin Mon Lapin Address: 150 Rue Saint-Zotique East, Montréal Type: Restaurant ###
