Montreal Hidden Gem Wine Bar šŸ„‚ - Blown Away by the Desserts!

I stumbled upon this wine bar and was intrigued by their dessert menu, so I decided to check it out right away. The place is really pretty, and since I made my reservation early—arriving at 5 PM—it was practically empty. The menu is divided into salty and sweet sections, along with a variety of wines. Since I was dining solo, I ordered two savory dishes: tartare and cheese mousse, as well as two desserts: crunchy and daisy. 🄩 Beef Tartare: Mixed with soujouk sausage, crispy pickled turnip, and green onions, this dish had a rich and diverse flavor profile. It was quite dry and refreshing overall. šŸ§€ Sweet & Salty Cheese Mousse: Though it’s labeled as sweet and salty, I found it leaned more towards the sweet side. The cheese mousse was incredibly smooth and rich, starting with a slightly sweet custard-like flavor, followed by a savory cheese aftertaste. It was paired with chamomile and sea buckthorn, which added a tart and refreshing contrast. 🧈 Crunchy: A thin, crispy pastry layered with lebneh cream (which is kind of like concentrated sour cream), offering a tangy sweetness. The texture was heavy and a bit sticky—at first, the taste seemed odd, but the more I ate, the more addictive it became. After a few bites, it did get a bit overwhelming. The bottom layer was orange blossom ice cream, which balanced the flavors a bit more when eaten together. The dessert also included tamarind caramel with a strong sweet and sour kick, and crispy wheat grains for added texture. The overall experience was richly textured and flavorful! However, the lebneh cream was quite intense, so it’s best to eat it quickly before the crispy pastry gets soggy. šŸ› The other dessert, Daisy: This one was interesting! The biggest surprise was the scoop of ice cream on top—it was curry-flavored! The pure curry taste blended with the creaminess of the ice cream without being too overpowering. #Montreal #MontrealLife #MontrealEats #MontrealFoodie #MyFoodDiary #HiddenDessertGems #FoodDaily #ExploreEats #WeekendEats #WhatToEat #Desserts #Canada ### Name: Ratafia Address: 6778 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, Quebec H2S 3C7 Type: Restaurant ###
