Morocco | La Trattoria – A Chic Italian Escape in Marrakech

After 6 days, 5 nights in Morocco (including a 3-day Sahara desert tour 🏜️ where we survived on endless tagines), we were desperate for a good meal back in Marrakech. 🍝 Why Italian in Morocco? As an Italian native, I usually avoid Italian food abroad—but let’s be real: Morocco isn’t a culinary paradise. After scrolling through Google Maps (French, Moroccan, Italian options), we gambled on La Trattoria… and won. 📍 The Vibe Poolside lunch seating (dinner was booked solid for a week—plan ahead!). Elegant, relaxed ambiance—a welcome break from the medina chaos. 🍽️ What We Ordered: 1️⃣ Antipasto: Bruschetta Crispy bread + juicy tomatoes + bold Moroccan twist (more flavorful than Italy’s version!). 2️⃣ Primi Piatti: Seafood Pasta 🦐 – Fresh, coastal-level quality (or maybe we were just starved after days of tagine?). Lasagna – Meh. Boyfriend’s pick—skip it unless you’re nostalgic for cafeteria food. 3️⃣ Secondo: Filetto 🥩 Average (meat wasn’t tender), but the creamy mashed potatoes stole the show. 💰 Damage: ~1000 MAD Worth it? YES. Huge portions (no room for dessert 😭), upscale setting, and that seafood pasta… chef’s kiss. 📍 Location: 179 Rue Mohammed el Beqal, Marrakech 40000 #MarrakechEats #ItalianInMorocco #FoodieEscape #NoMoreTagine #TravelHungry
