๐ Moscow "Ice and Snow" Festival and Winter Park Activities โ๏ธ
This year, the "Ice and Snow" Festival will be held from December 25th to January 25th at Muzeon and Khodynskoye Pole parks. Here, you can interact with art pieces made of ice and light. ๐งโ๏ธโจ In Muzeon Park (๐ธ Photos 1 and 2 are from last year's ice sculptures in the park), a musical slide will be installed that makes sounds as visitors slide down. There will also be an ice labyrinth featuring replicas of paintings by young Moscow artists. ๐ถ๐ฐ At Khodynskoye Pole Park, light slides and mazes will be constructed. ๐ท๐๏ธ What can you do in Moscow's parks during winter? ๐จ๏ธ Go ice skating, skiing, take photos, or look for foxes and weasels. ๐ฆ๐ฆ On a good day, take a leisurely walk among the snow-covered pines, looking for traces of hares and stoats, or enjoy the creaking sound of unsprayed skis in the spruce trees and snow mounds. ๐ฒโ๏ธ In Moscow's parks, you can take photos with Gothic palaces or fairy-tale towers in the background, and in the evening, you can spin on the ice rink to music with family or friends. ๐ท๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Ice skating is one of the favorite winter activities for Muscovites. It's wonderful to glide over the ice as the sun sparkles in every snowflake, or to spin to the rhythm of music under the soft glow of lanterns. ๐โธ๏ธ๐ I've previously shared about several major ice rinks in Moscow. ๐๏ธ A classic winter activity is a skiing trip. For example, you can visit Meshchersky Park - the alleys here are specially prepared for skiers with the help of snow tractors. The park's terrain is mostly flat with dense, flat ski trails. Meshchersky is suitable for classic skiing because only the park visitors' walking paths are used for skating. ๐ท๐ฒ For well-trained skiers, the most sporty and longest track "Alfa-Bitsa" in Moscow's Bitsevsky Forest is very suitable. ๐๏ธ๐ท If you want to enjoy a relaxed skiing trip, you can head to Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo Park. There is a winding cross-country ski trail among the pines, as well as a slightly sloping skating trail. After cycling through the forest, you can go to the restaurant of the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, have some snacks and pies to warm up, and then admire the restored manor. ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ฐ๐ฐ Winter is the season to take photos in the snow-covered parks. For example, you can visit the Tsaritsyno Museum and Reserve: this pseudo-Gothic palace seems to have been built specifically for winter photography. ๐ธ๐ฐ You can take pictures like a Russian fairy tale in the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve. ๐๐ฒ If you want to take warm photos under the lights, you can go to Sokolniki Park. The most popular place for night photography is the alleyway filled with lantern-lit arches. ๐ฎ๐ธ In Kuzminki-Lublino Park, there are foxes and weasels - the start of the ecological trail is not far from the Frost Father Manor. ๐ฆ๐ก #ChroniclerOfRomanticLife #Moscow #RussianTravel
