Mossbrae Falls, California | A Hidden Hiking Gem
An incredibly beautiful moss-covered volcanic waterfall – I’ve shared an actual video of it before. The place feels straight out of a YouTube meditation video, almost unreal in its beauty! The trail is super easy. We went there two years ago in July, and it was almost empty – perfect for meditation! By the time we reached the waterfall, it was just me, my husband, and one or two other hitters. Since it was summer and quite hot, remember to bring plenty of water and sun protection. 💦 The water is freezing cold – the kind that makes your joints ache – so let’s keep it pristine. Just enjoy the view quietly without disturbing the environment. 🛤️ The round trip is about 3 miles. Starting from the parking area, you’ll reach the falls fairly quickly. The whole hike can easily be completed within an hour. 🅿️ We parked near the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, about 0.2 miles from the trailhead, which didn’t add much extra distance. ⚠️ Stay alert for safety, as part of the trail runs along active train tracks like those shown in the second image. We didn’t encounter any trains during our visit, but always pay attention. If you hear a train horn, move well away from the tracks and wait until it passes before continuing. #California#Modesto#travelguide#Californiaguide#tripdiary
