Must-Visit Georgia O'Keeffe Home in New Mexico 🏜️🎨
Important: It’s the artist’s former residence, not a museum! Be sure to book tickets online early—check available tour times ASAP! Tours often sell out, so secure your spots ahead of time. ✨ Start by checking in at the visitor center 🏛️ You can explore the small exhibition gallery while waiting A guide and shuttle will take your group up to the mountain house at the scheduled time 🚐💨 Georgia O’Keeffe waited ten years from first seeing the property to finally acquiring it! 🌿 Her garden is still irrigated weekly using the original historic canal system—so cool! You can even check it out live through the official webcam 📸🌺 During the tour, make sure to stay with the guide—no wandering off for solo photos inside! Inside the house, always stay on the carpet path—no stepping onto original floors 🚷👣 You’ll also see many gifts from her famous artist friends, like the beautiful lamp by Isamu Noguchi 💡🎁 We highly recommend booking a morning tour ☀️ The sunlight pours beautifully into the living room—so perfect for photos! We visited in late August with a 1 PM tour, and the light was pretty dim inside 😅 The main door remains exactly as it was when she bought the house—so guests enter through the side door You can still see the historic “mail slot” added later 📬 There’s even a “Beware of Dog” sign she put up to keep visitors from disturbing her—though her dog was actually super friendly! 🐶❤️ #LifeFragments #LiveLifeFully #CityExplorer #WinterTravelWishlist #NYCLife #TravelNorthAmerica #NewMexico #NewMexicoTravel #ArtistSpotlight #ArchitecturalBeauty
