Must-Visit Traditional Food Restaurant in Zagreb 🍽️

Stari Fijaker This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! From the food to the service and the overall dining experience, everything is top-notch ✨. ✅ Must-Try Dishes: Lamb Soup: Totally worth ordering! A huge portion (around ¥90 RMB) is enough for two. Packed with tender lamb, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, and a few potatoes, it’s flavorful with a pure salty taste. We guessed the lamb is stewed separately and then combined with vegetables, resulting in a clear broth without a strong lamb flavor—more like a savory salted soup. Veal & Zagreb Schnitzel: This fried meat roll is essentially a Schnitzel stuffed with ham and cheese—a Croatian version of cordon bleu. The meat is tender, the crust is golden and crispy, and paired with sauce, it’s incredibly delicious! The portion was so huge we had to pack the leftovers for the next day. Beef Stew & Potato Dumplings: Also amazing—soft, chewy, and perfect for those who love hearty Northern flavors. ✅ Generous Portions & Budget-Friendly: Main dishes average €15-20. With a beer, half a Schnitzel leftover (thanks to the massive serving), lamb soup, and dessert… two people spent only €30! Unbeatable value! The restaurant also serves specialty desserts. Zagreb’s desserts may seem simple but are surprisingly delightful—you won’t be disappointed! ✅ Dining Ambience: The interior blends local cultural elements, creating a cozy and authentic vibe. Having operated for over 30 years, many dishes here are time-honored classics, so quality is guaranteed! ✅ Service Experience: The staff are super friendly and thoughtful when recommending dishes. Solo travelers will also feel warmly welcomed. Just note: the place is popular (lots of tourists but plenty of locals too!). 📌 Tips: If you want real Balkan-style Croatian cuisine, don’t miss this spot! 📍 Location: Mesnička ul. 6, 10000, Zagreb, Croatia 🚨 Reservations: Usually not needed—try your luck! Or book in advance. #ZagrebFood #CroatianCuisine #EuropeTravel #LocalEats #Croatia #ZagrebRestaurants #ZagrebTravel #CroatianFood #CroatianRestaurants #ZagrebTourism
