My Day in Nairobi! โ๏ธ
๐ National Museum of Kenya ๐น Entry fee: 1200 KES โ If paying in cash, first register your passport at reception to generate an order, take a photo, then head to the crafts shop across the way to pay via M-Pesa.โจ ๐ธ English guide: 500 KES โ No fixed price, considered a tip. We gave 1000 KES for two people. The guide spoke great English and gave a fantastic tour! Highly recommend for insights on human origins, Kenyan wildlife, and national history.๐ ๐ Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) โ UN Africa HQ ๐น Entry fee: 500 KES โ Home to UNEP and UN-Habitat. Payment via card or M-Pesa only (no cash). ๐ธ You can go up to the 27th floor for a panoramic city view! Also staged a "Meeting at the UN" photo in one of the conference rooms ๐. The guard at the entrance was funโno photos of him, but he allowed selfies! ๐ท ๐ Maasai Market ๐น The location changes dailyโtoday it was right next to KICC! Stalls everywhere, super friendly vendors, but haggling is a must. ๐ธ 2 round bowls: Started at 8500 KES, bargained down to 300 KES! 3 fridge magnets: Started at 1500 KES, got them for 750 KES. Prices depend on your negotiation skills, but itโs a great place for affordable, unique souvenirs!๐ ๐ Village Market ๐น A huge, upscale mall with pricier but more refined handicrafts. Lots of dining options too. ๐ธ Carrefour supermarket (1st floor) is a gem! They have rhino, lion, and elephant tote bagsโsmall for 26 KES, large for 39 KES. Also, fresh juice for 225 KES/bottle, and they give change in coins (rare in Kenya!). The coins make cool souvenirs: 20 KES (๐), 10 KES (๐ฆ), 5 KES (๐ฆ), 1 KES (๐ฆ). ๐ Lunch ๐น Kilimanjaro coffee & mango shake = heavenly! ๐ธ Avocado ๐ฅ & mango ๐ฅญโso fresh, so delicious! ๐ ๐ Transport: Used Uber all dayโaffordable, and the drivers were super friendly! #NoEarlyMorningsTravelDiary #Nairobi #Kenya #KenyaTravel #TwoMorePagesReadInTheBookOfTheWorld ๐โจ
