My First Solo Trip Made Me Fall in Love with Copenhagen
My first solo trip happened by accident ✨. While planning my return to the UK for my second year of uni, I stumbled upon super cheap flights from Hong Kong to Copenhagen. My Schengen visa was about to expire—so I thought, why not? 🎫 I booked the ticket without hesitation and decided to spend two days exploring before flying to London. I stayed in my first-ever hostel—Next House Copenhagen—and it remains the best hostel I’ve experienced around the world! 🏆 Located right in the city center by the river 🌊, it’s quiet and within walking distance to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, the National Museum, and the Danish Architecture Center. Denmark 🇩🇰 might just be the perfect destination for a girl’s first solo trip! It’s incredibly safe, English is widely spoken, and all signs are bilingual. locals may seem reserved at first, but they’re actually super helpful—it totally broke my stereotype of Nordic coldness 😄. Once, while I looked a bit lost on the street, two cars stopped to ask if I needed directions (of course, never get in a stranger’s car—safety first! 🚗🙅♀️). Getting around Copenhagen is easy 🚇, though different metro lines sometimes share the same platform. Once, just as I was about to ask for help, someone nearby proactively offered directions in English! The vibe of the city completely won me over 💖. It’s one of the very few places I’ve visited twice. Even tourist spots aren’t overly crowded, and the city center is very walkable. You can cover the main attractions in 2-3 days, but I highly recommend slowing down and soaking in the local rhythm 🍃. It’s a perfect city for introverts to wander undisturbed. I love Copenhagen so much—the atmosphere, the culture, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art 🎨, just an hour away by train. Highly recommend spending half a day there if you have time! I returned to Copenhagen just for a special exhibition at Louisiana, and it was absolutely breathtaking. My first solo trip was a beautiful and unforgettable memory 🌍. It sparked a love for traveling alone—leading me to solo adventures in Japan, skiing in France, diving in Thailand, and even a long-term stay in the US… Solo travel is seriously addictive! Exploring the world on your own is incredibly cool 😎. All it takes is a little courage, and surprises await at every corner! #SoloTravel #SoloTripExperience #VisitCopenhagen #NordicAdventure #DiscoverDenmark #UnfilteredWorld #StudyAbroadStory #TravelAlone #HowCoolIsSoloTravel
