My First Time in Seoul – Some Thoughts I Have to Share…

Seoul is so fun! My 5-day, 4-night itinerary was packed— I even wanted to go to Busan, but there was simply no time 😂 Wear comfortable shoes! Hiking shoes or thick slippers are a must—those endless uphill paths will make you beg for mercy within minutes 🥿 Download a map with English! Seoul is mostly "de-Sinicized," and the Chinese signs in subways are tiny and not always accurate. You’ll get lost without an English map 🗺️ If you’re flying back from Incheon Airport, arrive 4 hours early! I left Itaewon at 11 AM for a 3:50 PM flight, and I only finished tax refunds, shopping, and eating at 3:20 PM—cutting it super close ⏰ Do your research beforehand! I wandered around all those "dong" (neighborhoods) with no plan, and it felt like groping in the dark. A little prep goes a long way 📝 UnionPay cards aren’t as widely accepted as Visa. Exchange more cash—my 3,000 RMB (for 5D4N) was almost gone by the end 💴 When eating Korean BBQ for 2 people, order max 2 servings of meat—you’ll definitely finish too full to move otherwise 🥩 The Waikiki bar in Itaewon is great! No cover charge, but you have to buy drinks—perfect for a casual night out 🍹 If you don’t mind uphill walks, stay near Itaewon or Noksapyeong Station. The experience is totally unique compared to busy areas like Myeong-dong 🏘️ I’ve seen lots of posts saying Seoul has "travel fatigue," but here’s my take: Life is all about experiences. You’ll only form your own unique opinions if you come and see it for yourself. A good trip never makes you want to escape reality—right now, I’m even more motivated to work and earn money, just to keep exploring life’s adventures! ✨ #SeoulTravel #SeoulTrip #Seoul
