🎢🌸Nagoya Castle: More Than Just Architecture 🏯🌸

Nagoya Castle is one of Japan’s most iconic traditional castles, designated as a National Special Historic Site with a status equivalent to a National Treasure. From the Nagoya Castle Subway Station, follow the signs to easily find this historic gem. 🌿🌇 The castle’s deep moats and defensive structures are a testament to its strategic importance. 🏛️ Honmaru Palace: While the Tenshukaku (Main Keep) is currently closed, visitors can explore the Honmaru Palace. Built in 1615 as the residence of the Owari Domain lords, it also served as the domain’s administrative center. 🎢🌸 Along with the main keep, it was designated as National Treasure No. 1, but the original structure was destroyed during World War II air raids. The current palace, reconstructed in 2018 based on Edo-period blueprints, offers a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of the Owari Tokugawa family. 🌿🌇 Though not an original structure, the reconstruction showcases the craftsmanship of artisans across generations and the opulence of the nobility. #Nagoya #JapanTravel 🌊
