Namba Yasaka Shrine
Who Says You Can’t Worship? 🌟 🌇✨ I quickly checked off the giant lion head, took two photos, and then rushed off. Remembering the reason I saw on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) for only taking photos and not worshipping, I ended up missing out on its January-limited offerings. After coming back, I looked up more information and found out that worshipping and praying for blessings are actually allowed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 🌇✨ Here’s some information about Namba Yasaka Shrine: Historical Origins: Located in Osaka, Japan, Namba Yasaka Shrine’s earliest records date back to the reign of Emperor Nintoku, around 1069, nearly a thousand years ago. Some even say its history goes back to the 3rd century. 🌇✨ Legend has it that in the 5th century, when an infectious disease broke out in Osaka, people began to worship Gion Gozu Tenno. Since then, this place has become the guardian shrine of the Namba area and is called “Namba Shimo-no-Miya” by the locals. After the Meiji Restoration, it was once abandoned due to the policy of separation of Shinto and Buddhism, but in 1974, the main hall and other buildings were reconstructed. 🌇✨ #Osaka 🌇✨
