Nami Nori West Village
Hidden Gem in Nishi-Mura, Midtown's Under-the-Radar Japanese Spot π π Nishi-Mura is an area I'm not very familiar with; I visit it less often compared to the East Village. Usually, I'm there just to catch the PATH train near the edge of Nishi-Mura. This time, I went specifically for Nami Nori. π Nami Nori is a Michelin-recommended Japanese hand roll spot. The last time I visited was at the end of spring, beginning of summer, and we sat at an outdoor table, just like this time. π If you're unsure what to order, you can go for the Set. I got the Classic, and my friend opted for the Signature, both of which are mainly fish-based, around $28-$32. It was so delicious that my friend wanted to order another set. For drinks, I recommend the Chatcharita, a matcha and cucumber flavor that's perfect for the season. π Kaoru is another hidden Japanese spot in Midtown, located closer to the east side. I used to frequent it when I was interning at the UN. πThe most popular dish there is their sashimi don. My go-to is the Three Amigos small, at $18, which is a great value for one person. I also often get their pork cutlet set, which is lean and just the way I like it. π #HiddenGems #MidtownJapanese #NamiNori #Kaoru ππ
